So once again, it’s been a while. But I figured it was time to start blogging again, since it’s part of my #40by40 goals.
What is #40by40? It’s the set of 40 goals I’ve set for myself this year, to be completed by my 40th birthday. It may sound a bit daunting, but I actually took the time during December to do some planning to make it work. I put together 10 categories for my goals, and then each category has only four goals in it:
- Home
- Health
- Work
- Writing
- Family
- Friends
- Marriage
- Mission
- Faith
- Finance
Some of my goals are deeply personal, so I won’t be sharing them publicly. Others, I welcome and encourage feedback! I’m trying to put together a Facebook group for accountability. For my health goals, I’ve signed up for Beachbody (insert groans here if you’re not into all of the multi-level marketing companies). For me, it wasn’t about jumping on a bandwagon or even trying to sell something. I learned my lesson doing Wildtree that I just don’t enjoy sales. But… this provided the accountability I need to stay on track. Every day I log my workouts and my coach (and sometimes others in the group) gives encouragement. I also love the focus on meal planning, which I also need accountability for. Regularly planning meals and cooking at home are part of my goals, too.
I also have been reading more (another goal of mine), and specifically the book Better Than Before: What I Learned About Making and Breaking Habits by Gretchen Rubin (author of The Happiness Project) has been blowing my mind. It’s why I know I need accountability to succeed, because that’s how I’m wired.
Today’s post is just to get started and give you an update on what I’m working on. More soon on my specific goals and how they’re coming along!
