Giving up ____ for Lent
Samantha was born six weeks early, so the doctors gave us instructions to keep her home and avoid crowds/people until we got to her due date. That meant that for Lent, I gave up being around people.

Nieces and Nephews
We’ve been blessed to have children around us in our family throughout our marriage. Travis’ sister had a little boy before we were married. In fact, he was our “ring bearer” at our wedding.

Others having kids
The summer after we lost Jonah, my sister got married in July. She and my brother-in-law were kind enough to include Jonah’s name with Mark’s grandparents (and maybe others?) who had died at some point before their marriage. It was really sweet.

Travis and I got the opportunity over the weekend to share our story with a friend. We just sat in our living room and told her about what we’ve been through along the way. He reminded me of a few things from his part of our journey with Jonah (and told me something new, also).

Inducing labor
We went to the hospital early on the morning of April 7, 2003. We had been to a couple of birthing classes, just enough for me to know that all of the breathing techniques were useless for my personality type. I brought along a cd player and some music I found soothing to play, and some clothes for me to wear home.
