I know, it’s been a while. December is a tough month for me to stay on task/routine. Although I’ve apparently not blogged since November. How did that happen?
I’ve been struggling with my walk through the joy verses in Scripture. Part of it is my own fault – I look up a few, and they aren’t exactly joyful verses. There’s a lot of negative uses of the word in scripture, that have nothing to do with true joy from God. But then I forget to make a note or cross out the verse, and end up looking up the same ones over and over again. I’m going to work on that.
Meanwhile, as I find the “good” joy verses to blog about, I need to also keep up with sharing my pieces of joy with all of you. I find little ways of seeking joy almost every day. Like today, I got to bring my niece Rachel to school. This is a big one for me, since they are moving and she will soon go to a different school. We stopped at Starbucks on the way so I could get my January mug filled (I bought it in December and it’s good for “free” refills all month). Bought her a steamer since she loves those. It was a nice little treat for us to share. I’m going to be taking her home today too.
I also started to work on my plans for the next month as I wrote my report for our church council, and realized that if I want to teach a women’s Bible study I need to get it on the calendar. So I did. I feel like I’m getting super busy, but I love it. I’m making conscious decisions to add specific things to my schedule. And I planned meals for this week and shopped accordingly, and it’s going really well! Now to keep it up with being gone next weekend – that will be the trick.
Anyway, I’m back and planning to be much more regular in posting. Blessings!
